Fairtrade and Social Justice film

I’m a Hampshire resident and an active supporter of Fairtrade, an organisation that campaigns for fairer pay and safer working conditions for farmers and workers around the world. 

Fairtrade Fortnight, our annual celebration, has just started.  With this year’s focus on social justice we decided to show ‘The True Cost’, a full-length documentary that explores many aspects of the fashion industry from consumerism to the fast fashion phenomenon and the exploitative practices of the industry.  It also features many high-profile personalities of the fashion world including Stella McCartney and Livia Firth – all going further than good intentions and providing solutions to some of the issues in question. 

I think the film would be of interest to the Fashion Week’s participants. It is available free of charge on YouTube. Please check the official trailer below:
